Waclaw Snopczynski: Birth certificate

Copy from the holdings of the Roman-Catholic Parish of All Saints in Warsaw (in Russian)

Record 1593, Catalog Number 54, Microfilm 11855
This happened in Warsaw in the Office of the Parish of All Saints on October 4/14 1892 at 7 p.m. (the first date is in the Julian calendar used in Russia and the second date in the Gregorian calendar used in Poland and in most of the rest of Europe). Appeared before us Edward Snopek vel Snopczynski (like in the birth record of Maria Snopczynska his surname at birth is noted), a carpenter, age 36, residing in Warsaw on Panska Street in the house number 1227 letter A (according to ‘Taryfa domów miasta stołecznego Warszawy 1893 roku” this was Panska 66) in the presence of Jan Piastowski, a messenger and Jozef Luks, a carpenter, both adults, residing in Warsaw, and showed us a male child declaring that he was born in Warsaw in his residence on September 16/28 of the present year at 4 p.m. (September 28, 1892) to his legal wife Tekla née Burkiewicz (should be Teofila), age 28. At Holy Baptism, performed this day, this child was given the name Waclaw, and the godparents were: Jan Piastowski and Stanislawa Snopczynska. This document was read aloud by us to the illiterate reporting person and to the witnesses and was signed only by us.
(-) Priest Wincenty (?) Curate
(It is curious why the Curate noted that Edward Snopczynski and Jozef Luks were illiterate. Jozef Luks signed the birth record of Maria Snopczynska in 1890 and Edward Snopczynski signed all birth records of his four daughters starting with Cecylia Ludwika in 1884. In addition, there is an error in the name of the mother. It should be Teofila and not Tekla, which was the name of Edward's mother.)
