This took place in Warsaw on May 3/15 (the first date is in the Julian calendar used in Russian and the second date in the Gregorian calendar used in Poland and in the West), 1883 at 8 PM.  Came before me Władysław Praski a varnisher foreman, thirty eight years old, residing in Warsaw on the Chlodna Street in house number 921 in the present of Stanislaw Maruszewski, a metalworker, foreman deputy and Ludwik Niklatz, both of legal age and residing in Warsaw and presented to us a baby of the male sex declaring that he was born in his apartment on October 31/November 12 of the previous year (1882) from his legal wife, Zofia, maiden name Szulc, 22 years old.  This baby was christened today by Priest Piotr Michalski with the names Wladyslaw Sylwester and his godparents were Stanislaw Maruszewski and Aniela Fliat (?).  The late reporting of this fact was caused by father’s business schedule.  This document was read and signed.
