Birth (baptism) certificate of Onufry Pieniazek
scanned from Gorzno Parish records

(in Russian)

This document is in Russian, the official language of Russian-occupied Congress Poland after 1868.  Rev. Augustyn Balcewicz, the parson of Gorzno, used a stamp in lieu of signature, which probably means that he could not sign his name in Russian (using Cyrillic alphabet).  In this document the names of people are also written in Polish; however, this custom was later banned by the Russian government.
