Names of parents and year of birth taken from his marriage certificate. In this marriage certificate it is stated that he was a Protestant, most probably belonging to the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Poland. Despite this fact he was married to a Roman Catholic bride in a Roman Catholic church. They signed a prenuptial agreement. Most probably it concerned the religion of their children. Their son Jozef was Roman-Catholic. Interestingly, although Karol was born in Warsaw, when he was married in Warsaw on 28 January 1828, his parents resided in Dresden, Saxony.
