Wladyslaw Praski

1880

According to "Przewodnik Warszawski Informacyjno-Adressowy na rok 1869, Warszawa 1869" by Wiktor Dzierzanowski published in 1869, Wincenty Praski, a varnisher apprentice lived on Mokotowska Street Number 5 in Warsaw.

In May 1883, he lived in Warsaw on Chlodna Street house number 921 (Chlodna 37), as stated in the birth certificate of his son Wladyslaw Wincenty Praski from the St. Andrew parish in Warsaw.

In January 1885, he lived on Mirowska Street house number 936 (Mirowska 1), as stated in the birth certificate of his daughter Helena from the St. Andrew parish in Warsaw.

In 1895 his death certificate from the St. Aleksander parish in Warsaw was witnessed by Marcin Szulc (Schultz), his brother-in-law a brewer from Brzesc nad Bugiem (Brest-Litovsk) and Wladyslaw Tomaszewski a manager of Marcin Szulc's hotel in Warsaw. House number 1713B listed as the place of his death is Aleje Ujazdowskie Number 25. Facing Aleje Ujazdowskie there is now a small palace housing the Yugoslav Embassy built by Antoni Corazzi in 1826 for Stanislaw and Getruda Sleszynski and Jozef Fox. Facing Piekna Street there was an apartment building on this lot sublet to tenants. In the back there was an amusement park opened in 1827 called "Dolina Szwajcarska" (Swiss Valley). This information was taken from Robert Marcinkowski's book "Ilustrowany Atlas Dawnej Warszawy" and from information received from Mr. Ryszard Maczewski, the author of the history of this location in Warsaw.
